1946: TV arrives in Mexico
The first signal south of the border was broadcast in Mexico City by Guillermo González Camarena, an engineer who later contributed to the development of color television. A month later Camarena founded the country’s first experimental TV station, operating under the call sign XE1GGC-Channel 5. -A.D.
