1966: NBC goes color full-time
By the mid-1960s, color programming was rapidly overtaking black and white. When its game show Concentration abandoned the black and white format on this date, NBC became the first network to broadcast in 100% color, living up to the reputation of its longtime peacock logo. -A.D.
