1926: “The father of Japanese television” makes a breakthrough
Electrical engineer Kenjiro Takayanagi broadcast a Japanese character composed of 40 scan lines, using a cathode-ray tube , in a demonstration at the high school where he was a teacher. This was one of the first recorded successful uses of an all-electronic system of television in the technology’s history. -A.D.
