1947: RCA demonstrates color TV to the FCC
At a special hearing of the Federal Communications Commission in Princeton, NJ, RCA presented a new advance in broadcasting technology. Using a radio-frequency circuit, the company demonstrated an all-electronic color television system to transmit live images. RCA’s annual shareholder report for the year declared the advances would clear a major hurdle for the regular adoption of television technology. -A.D.
