1975: The Odd Couple concludes
Based on Neil Simon’s popular stage play, the sitcom about mismatched roommates—the fastidious Felix Unger (Tony Randall) and the sloveny Oscar Madison (Jack Klugman)—completed a five-season run on ABC. Never a highly rated program, the Garry Marshall production was nevertheless nominated for the Emmy for Outstanding Comedy Series three times, and each of the leads took home awards for their performances, Klugman twice. -A.D.
