2009: Battlestar Galactica concludes… again
A reboot of a cult science fiction franchise from the late 1970s and early 1980s, Sci-Fi Channel’s incarnation of BSG ended a run of four seasons and 75 episodes. Edward James Olmos, Mary McDonnell, and Katee Sackhoff were among the survivors of a war between humans and a robotic race called Cylons, which left the human race adrift on a spaceship fleet commanded by the titular Galactica. Beginning in 2004, the series incorporated religious motifs and themes of political and military allegory, drawing heavily on social issues prominent in the mid-2000s. -A.D.
