2006: Soul Train pulls into the terminus

Created and hosted by Don Cornelius, Soul Train featured musical performances and dancing in genres like soul, R&B, funk, jazz, hip-hop, and more. After debuting in 1971, the series ran for more than 1,100 episodes until suspending production after the 2005–06 season. Though this date marked its last original broadcast, it continues to air repeats of prior seasons. -A.D.
