The 2021 Michigan mass shooting has left the nation in shock. Meanwhile, the shooter, Ethan Crumbley, is currently in headlines for his journals that he had written before the shooting, leaving many questioning if he is dead.
Ethan Crumbley is a 17-year-old young man from Florida born on April 28, 2006.
He was the one behind the unfortunate Oxford High School shooting in the year 2021.
At the time of the shooting, he was only 15 years old and was one of the students at the school.
Ethan moved to Michigan with his parents, Jennifer and James, in 2014.
Meanwhile, after the shooting, he was put on a suicide watch after being held by law enforcement.
Currently, Ethan Crumbley and his parents are trending again after his journal has been put forward in the media by the court.
Various rumors also surfaced that Ethan Crumbley is dead, so let’s get into the details.
Revelations From The Disturbing Journal Of Mass Shooter Ethan Crumbley: Is He Dead?
While the news about Ethan Crumbley’s journal being public is true, the death rumors are entirely false.
Ethan Crumbley is not dead and is behind bars after he was sentenced to life without parole in December of 2023.
After his sentence, everyone thought that the trial had finally ended. However, behind the scenes, law enforcement had more to review.
Upon investigation, they found that Ethan Crumbley’s heinous decision may not have surprised his parents.
The law enforcement discovered a journal with 21 pages written by Ethan Crumbley.
They found it in the bathroom, which Ethan Crumbley had gone to before he began the mass shooting.
According to reports, the journal was first written on November 29.
He began the journal on that date by writing ‘FORGIVE ME’ in big bold letters.
After that, every piece describes his plan to go forward with a mass shooting.
Some disturbing drawings and details show the mental state Ethan Crumbley was in before the shooting.
On one page, he writes, “First, I got my gun. Second, the shooting is tomorrow. I have access to the gun and ammo.”
Michigan Mass Shooting Journal: Prosecutors Allege Parental Negligence
One of the drawings in Ethan Crumbley journal is of a girl with a gun pointing right at her head.
Right below the drawing, Ethan Crumbley writes,
The first victim has to be a pretty girl with a future so sick and suffer like me.
On page 19 of the journal, Ethan Crumbley writes, “I will kill everyone I see, I will cause the biggest school shooting in Michigan’s history.”
He has also written about how he has lost the battle with his dark side and his parent wouldn’t listen to him or help him.
Through his journal, it is visible that he was desperately seeking help for his mental health.
Ethan also apologizes to his parents, saying he was not trying to hurt them.
The prosecutors are now arguing that both of Ethan Crumbley’s parents knew about everything and were neglectful of their child.
They say that if Jennifer and James had been more careful about Ethan Crumbley, there wouldn’t be 4 dead victims.
