However, in a recent podcast episode, Doherty revealed she is responding positively to a new cancer treatment, terming the results a “miracle,” without specifying the drug.

She further states,

“After the sixth or seventh treatment, we really saw it breaking down the blood-brain barrier. Do I call that a miracle? For me, that happens to be a miracle right now. That like I sort of rolled the dice and said let’s keep going,”

Doherty opened up and spoke candidly in a new, extensive conversation about death, fear, and the planning of her funeral.

Shannen Doherty began a challenging medical journey when she disclosed her breast cancer diagnosis in August 2015.

She received radiation, chemotherapy, a mastectomy, and reconstructive surgery as part of her treatment procedure.

A positive turning point in Doherty’s health journey occurred two years after her initial cancer diagnosis when she claimed to be in remission.

In February 2020, she revealed a stage 4 cancer recurrence, termed “terminal”, in her legal battle against State Farm insurance.

With that, she updated her fans, stating that the stress she was experiencing was an understatement, yet she remained hopeful.

“But… I believe that I will find my footing. I’ll dig deep for the inner strength I need to face it all. I pray I do it all with dignity and grace. I have so much to say. So much to share. I will. For now… please know how much you all help lift me,” 

Furthermore, she clarified that cancer is just a part of her life, expressing her determination to continue acting.

She actively shared her cancer journey, documenting numerous surgeries on her social media accounts.

“We are on a really good regimen now, and it’s working well for me. So (I just take things) day by day, month by month, year by year,”

However, she currently shows a positive impact on her health, responding well to the new cancer infusion treatment she receives.

Furthermore, she is optimistic about the situation and says she is not done with life.
